I would like to point out that the job market at the moment is an utter bitch. Myself, and all my friends who applied to Accenture have been rejected. We're talking Imperial College computing grads here, and they're turning EVERYONE down. Seems the industry's totally fucked at the moment - Accenture...

BIOS update, that is what f00ked his mobo in the first place. True, but I'd like to point out that noone should ever flash their BIOS at a LAN party. Especially when there are still people arriving and power problems (like your plug being pulled out) are likely. Tsk. He could try finding the bast w...

Basically it means Windows has marked 'em as buggered, and not to use them in future. Shouldn't be a problem, but keep an eye on the number of them.
If it gets much worse, start doing regular backups (as you should be anyway). I do them every week, religiously, honest guv.

Anyone got a Dreamcast with broadband adapter lying around? I'd be willing to take it off your hands for a reasonable price...

Re: The new current favourite albums thread :)

That's it. And yes, I am desperately trying to avoid doing work. Blergh :) No shit. And yes, so am I, so here goes... Currently: Delerium - Semantic Spaces (better of the two Delerium albums listed here, though not by much) Delerium - Karma Rhys Fulber - Conjure One (he of Delerium/FLA fame) Dire S...

Shotgun LAN 15 is on. I repeat: SG15 is on!

The venue's looking good - there's only one puddle in the car park now!
See you all this evening!

what do we do in the case of a flash flood? serious question. In the extremely unlikely event of a flash flood, there's a second floor to the building. We'll shift everything up there, and assess from there onwards. It won't be a problem though - as I say, we won't run the event if water is likely ...

SG15, and water :)

As you may well be aware, our next event begins tomorrow evening at 9pm. Those who are attending the event, please pay close attention :) First, let me state that we are planning to go ahead with the event. Like many areas of southern England, the venue has been undergoing some flood-related trouble...

Old and new forums, and passwords

Some of you may remember that we changed forum software for a variety of reasons, including that the old software had become a security risk. The old forums were hacked at least twice, and because it was such shitty software, the passwords were stored in plaintext in the database software. This mean...
