Dell server wotsit

We almost bought one or two of these for SG, but they stopped the offer before we clicked "buy". Prolly just as well, tbh.

You know, I hate to resurrect this thread, but we still seem to be missing ye olde SG19 photos. Any idea what dark hole they've retreated into Chris?

Come to think of it Pete, FrF just bought his parents a 3Com all-in-one magic box - swtich, G wireless, ADSL router, etc. Only about £70 with a free PCMCIA wireless card. Drop him a line and ask him whether it's any good.

Balls - that was meant to be up there for £40. Do you still want it?
I won't be around Sat night, though we can work through rib if you like.

Of course, any combination of this can be made up - currently there's enough 160GB HDs to make a rather nice fileserver, should anyone want one...

I'm retiring

OK guys - as some of you may have guessed from my post over on the Buy/Sell forum, I'm quitting PCs. Consequently, I'm retiring from active admin-ship after Shotgun LAN 19. It's been fun, but I've decided my life has to take a new turn, and I'm claiming my time back from the evil machine ;-) I'm sti...

Maxtor and WD are the ones to go for atm i reckon. I agree. Be careful with Maxtor's warranty period - they say 5 years for some drives, 3 years for others, and hide 1 year warranties about. The retailers are confused and often get it wrong, so read the blurb on Maxtor's site to check the warranty ...
