Maybe I should have clarified this a bit.
This is for people who are coming to the next event. ie. are signed up.
Ironballs, you great big hairy monkey, what are you doing on there?

That said, there's not enough of you wanting to play my organised games.
That makes me sad

The software doesn't allow people other than admins to do that -_-
What kind of tourney do you want? And do you want to run it? ^_^

Exocet, organised games, etc.

OK. I've popped up Pete's funky tourney-adminny-thingy for all your SG organised game needs on http://arbalest.dyndns.org/exocet . This system will be on http://www.shotgun.lan at the event. I've only popped 3 games on there for now - additional suggestions are most welcome, in addition to demands f...

Bugger encryption. These access points generally have eeny range anyway.
Given we're stuck in the middle of a huge car park in the middle of nowhere, I don't think anyone'll be interested in our little WiFi network.

On the subject of wireless, I'll be bringing along my 802.11g base station for your wireless needs.
If anyone has an 802.11a base station and wants to show it off, by all means bring it along. Chat to me about getting an IP for it.

You're thinking of Exocet - the tourny management system (which we'll probably use this event). I think IXL is asking about admin mods for games like Half-Life.

Re: LAN Stats

Do you guys run any admin mods such as AMX or anything for your LAN servers? Just wondered if you did and if you ran any stats? That'd be a bit organised for us really ;-) Generally, LAN servers (if they come up at all) are run vanilla off one of the admin's boxes/servers. If someone attending want...

I'm hiring a car to transport myself and Mark (FrF) down already. I'm not sure I'll have enough room for another person/PC. Haven't you got your own transport?

Actually, it's the same forum, but with a different skin. I'm impressed he spotted it.

Now then, we're all going to stop being nasty to each other now. Believe me, we are

We are getting an ADSL modem to go with it, but Paul was informed that the ADSL modem would only have a USB connection.... apparently this has something to do with keeping the IP address down to a minimum so that only 1 computer gets bombed by hackers!!! How acurate is this??? Am i right or way off...

Cable and DSL provide you with an ethernet interface, whereas with ADSL you need an ADSL modem built into the unit to plug into the phoneline.

Well... if you've got a Cable connection it'll work, but don't try it with ADSL.
Besides, it's a little steep...

I now have two of these guys in my machines, £7.50 a pop (for the fan, not the heatsink) from OCUK.

Enermax 350W PSU

PSU from a few years back. Completely functional but for:
Fan's stuck on full speed.
Hardware power switch (on teh back) is stuck on "on". Like you'll ever turn it off.

Replacing due to fan noise level (going for a silent(ish) PC).

£10, delivery at SG17.
