i picked up this months linux format, it's got mandrake9.0 on the front on a dvd, for you Cd-rom users it conveniently has a process where you can create 3 iso's and burn them to cd.....

can i get the bloody jigdo working? no... theres no hope

Uatec, i believe the version of debian mid-gen is running is run with a boodCd, this means that most likely he'll have a partition on his HDD set aside to debian and will access it via the bootable CD. (much like a boot disk in the old days but of course the X-box does not have a disk drive).. i sho...

surely if it can run a flavour of linux off a hard drive with a boot cd and be quite stable then it could run a Q3a server on a LAN?

wow! im really impressed, this could be the best half-life server to date with the power/cost ratio see if u can get a q3a server going u could run em at shotgunlan, make an excellent looking stack of servers, you could spray em white and it'll be like the SparC stations never left
