SG17 - It Lives!

And so it came to pass that on the eleventh day of November, in the year of our Lord twenty hundred and three, the Shotgun admin team did get off their almightily fat asses and plan a LAN. They invited the very cream of the gaming community to play, the makers of the finest equipment and beer to spo...

You should be safe with this... Watch out for ECC (you don't want it), as only server boards generally support and/or need it. It's more expensive anyway.

As for other general no-no's, I'd avoid ripping integral parts off your motherboard off this time around ;)

K, just to let people know that stage 1 of the server move is complete. All the web and DNS hosting has been shifted successfully to our new server, and mail will follow in a week or so. I'm actually off on holiday for a week from this weekend, so the chances are that the mail move won't take place ...

tbh, I'd leave 64 bit for a while... Noone really seems to have any idea what to do with it, and it'll be a while before any software that actually really uses it comes out. If you go AMD, get an x86...

Actuall, from the look of it, mail should just be queued up on other servers, and start filtering it's way in... No actual loss of mail shouls result :)

Forgiven? :)

... And we're back.

Righty, apologies for the site outage over the weekend... Some changes were made to prepare for the server move, and I have to admit to cocking them up a bit. However, things should now be returning to normal. Those of you with mail accounts here may have lost mail for a day or two over the weekend,...

Potential Weirdness

There may be some weirdness going on here for the next few days/weeks as I start to look at moving our hosting again. This shouldn't have an effect here (unless I cock it up) for the next week or so at least, but it's prolly worth warning people :)

Good luck with the LAN and all... I'm not going to make it, but if you got a mailing list, stick me on it... We may get furt...

Gotta be good though :)

And Pete Says...

Manitoba Had the album for a while, and enjoyed it, bit seeing them live at Reading was immense. Weird, kind of chilled ambient-ness, but with some excellent mixing and production that gives it a real edge, and most other people think they're worth listening to ... Up In Flames is the most recent a...

Yeah, we've never had to source our own tables... You may want to try Viking Direct, as they do all kind of office related crap and may have some. I know there are places you can hire them from if you don't want 'em long... Most local scout venues will prolly oblige if you ask 'em nicely....

An Admin Sets Off...

Righty, me car is packed and I'm outta here in the next 15 mins or so. If anyone has any dire emergencies, I can be reached on 07881 780565, though it may be someone else who picks up if I'm driving.

SG16 Final bits...

Morning all... Righty then. SG16 is nearly upon us, and I'm panicing nicely in a corner. We do have a lot of folks coming to this one, and I reckon it's going to be a good one, but it does mean that Friday night is going to be quite insane for us admins. In an effort to drive this workload down a bi...
