Exocet, organised games, etc.

Post by Kulgan »

OK. I've popped up Pete's funky tourney-adminny-thingy for all your SG organised game needs on http://arbalest.dyndns.org/exocet. This system will be on http://www.shotgun.lan at the event.

I've only popped 3 games on there for now - additional suggestions are most welcome, in addition to demands for tournaments. Be aware that tourneys are a load of effort though, and we'd rather not...

We'll sort out the timing once we've got a better indication of what's wanted (nearer the time).

The software doesn't allow people other than admins to do that -_-
What kind of tourney do you want? And do you want to run it? ^_^

Maybe I should have clarified this a bit.
This is for people who are coming to the next event. ie. are signed up.
Ironballs, you great big hairy monkey, what are you doing on there?

That said, there's not enough of you wanting to play my organised games.
That makes me sad

I just thought I'd have a look at Petes latest creation, curiosity mainly. Wondered if it broke easily like pretty much everything else he ever touched :P

Set them up. I'm not sure how Pete's "league table" type of tourney works, but I hope he'll enlighten us...

Oooh... we actually using this thing then? :)

I'd forgotten what a mess this thing makes of rendering in Moz... only use IE for this one, kiddies... Really ought to get round to fixing it. Think it's something to do with the box models being different...

Erm... Righty. League play is a kind of "Everyone plays a certain number of games against specified opponents, you get x points for a win, bleh bleh bleh". Clear? Good. Not sure that this really works well for PG type stuff, as we could prolly fit everyone in a single game :) How would you even start to run a PG based tourney? I'll be happy to code up suggestions if anyone's got 'em

Gimme admin rights :)
