Afternoon kiddies... Uncle Pete here again with some more exciting news. We realised that there were some people last event who didn't find the dates inconvenient enough, and so were able to turn up. We apologise once more for this sorry state of affairs, and we have tried our utmost to plan SG19 so that it's as troublesome as possible.

Event: SG19
Dates: 17 - 19th September, 2004
Cost: The classic SG £15 for prepay, £20 on the door.
Location: TS Swiftsure, Aldershot.
Map: http://www.shotgunlan.com/images/venue_map.png

Please proceed to moan about how hideously tiresome these dates are, and how they should be 3 weeks sooner.

Of course, those of you that can come along should expect the standard SG japery, beers and fun that you've come to expect from our little gathering. Signup is, as always, via the forums.

Give me a shout if you got any queries about stuff - Either via email, the forums, IRC (#shotgunlan on QuakeNet), etc... We'll do our best to get back to you ASAP.

Cheers all, and hope to see you there

Pete

PS
Please note that this email was supposed to have a vaguely joking tone... We do actually want people to turn up. Honest. Either that or it's just me, Chris and Nick. Don't condemn me to that. It also tends to unbalance
the BF teams.

New announce/remindy thing - replicated here for people without valid email addresses....

Well, time of year, month, week, whatever... There's a LAN going on!

Yes, that's right folks, coming to you for a limited time only, Shotgun 19 will be going on this weekend. Yours for the special low, low price of just 15 pounds (prepay). You won't find deals like this anywhere on the high-street, no Sir.

Featuring not just the usual japery of a Shotgun event, we also have the magic Doom 3 tourney to look forward to. Not only that, but Chris now has a job - Beers are on him! (Note that this may not actually happen ;) ).

For those currently unaware, this is in fact Nick's last event with us as an Admin. We wish him all the best with everything he goes on to do in this "Real World" thing he thinks hes discovered. For the record, we still believe he's making it up. Still, gives us a good excuse to get him roaring drunk and suspend him from the mast outside by his toenails or summat.

For those not signed up already, details are as follows:
Event: SG19
Dates: 17 - 19th September, 2004
Cost: The classic SG £15 for prepay, £20 on the door.
Location: TS Swiftsure, Aldershot.
Map: http://www.shotgunlan.com/images/venue_map.png

Further info on the Doom 3 tourney can be found in this forum thread:
http://www.shotgunlan.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=575

Any questions? Post them to the forums, or just reply to this mail...

Cheers Folks

---

And the second one (I'm a moron :) )

Yes, yes, yes... So I missed the main point of the whole fricking email thing... The Event Opening Time!

Due to the cadets using the hall on Friday night, we will be opening the event at 10:00pm. Please don't show up at the venue before then, as you'll annoy all kinds of people that we need to stay on good terms with :)

However - The customary pre-event pub trip will be going on down the road from about 7 onwards. For those in the know, it's the usual pub. For those not, it's called "The Cricketers" (or something similar). On the event map - http://www.shotgunlan.com/images/venue_map.png - the pub is on the junction of Lower Weybourne Lane, and Badshot Lea Rd, to the right of the venue site on the map.

You can park in the event car park before the event starts, and walk down to the pub if you feel so inclined. Please note that there is a one-way system in the venues car park - When you enter, go straight on and to the right of the building - DO NOT cut straight across to the left. I know it sounds daft, but again, this will annoy people and make life difficult for us admins. We will then, in turn, make life difficult for you :)

Please note that we can't be responsible for any kit you leave in your car while in the pub.

Finally, if anyone has any last minute problems, gets lost, etc., I can be reached on 07881 780565, though I'm going to be pretty busy on the Friday night, obviously.

Thanks again - Apologies for the multiple spammage

---

Phew - job done then
