Dawn of war

Post by Ironballs » Mon Sep 13, 2004 11:08 pm

I've just downloaded the dawn of war demo and had a quick player around with it, just wondered if anyone else had yet or not. I hadn't heard anything about the game untill someone mentioned it on here and I checked it out. Having been one of those geeky kids that played warhammer 40k when I was younger I was pretty interested to check the game out but was slightly disappointed to find it's been turned into abit of a c&c resource management style game. I also found the camera controls and lack of pause button slightly annoying, if the camera was done NWN style it would have been fine. There was also a lack of customizable controls on the demo which hopefully is rectified for the full release. Looks like it could be a fun game though.

Anyone else tried it yet ?

Yeh, I played the demo and am DEFINATELY buying that game when it comes out.

If you've got the Demo with you at SG, I'll be happy to give you a game (though it'll be a tad boring, I suspect, being only able to send Impreial Marines against each other...) :(

I haven't decided if the game's worth buying yet or not. I might wait for the price to go down abit before I get it.

I'm not comming to the next shotgun so can't give you a game then saddly :/

the beta has the tutorial and online-only multiplayer with the 4 races, the demo has a skirmish mode vs the ai, one mission and no multiplayer

I've only been playing the demo, its pretty fun though. Jet pack marines jumping into and out of battle is pretty darn cool.
