I think there is for broad band,
If you want it cheap then pipex is great, we took ages looking for the best deal and we use pipex we pay £15 a month and no phone bills,
the reliability is great as far as I know and it hasn't gone down when I was using it i.e. 24/7

For broadband bt are one of the most expensive ISPs there is so I wouldn't go with them.

I use a ISP called Force 9 for my broadband and it costs me £22.99 a month, with that I get 250mb web space, unlimited email accounts, MySQL/PHP/Perl facilities and a static IP.

Pipex is ADSL, so yes it does come down a standard bt line.

i was talking about dialup,

there is no way that david will be getting broadband so he just needs to get bt dialup so that he has a solid connection, eventually his dad will realise that you can also only have ONE aol trial.

i really must reccomend pipex

when i got the deal it was £90 (£120 something with VAT) to buy the ADSL modem (a pretty decent one too) from pipex themselves and they set the line up free of charge for you, then all it costs is £24.99 a month i beleive, which is about £10 more than what i used to pay for monthly dialup access, now 512k ADSL is 10 times faster than dialup so...you do the maths...(plus the fact you NEVER get a true 56k connection with a modem..its more round the 30 mark)

http://www.xtreme.pipex.net/adsl/sales/ ... solo.shtml

try that link for the full blurb on it

i think the free setup might have been a special offer i grabbed, so setup will include an extra £50 or so one off

i definatley think if your going to get a new connection go for broadband, its only marginally more each month than dialup but it works...tbh unless your only going to browse WWW pages and dont mind slow loading images (the bane of any porn addict im sure) then theres no point getting 56k AT ALL

oh and biggles FYI

BT suck *BIG* time

I used BTO narrowband over the summer and it worked fine.

I've got Kingston ADSL 512/256 (about £29 a month I think) and it's sweet.

3) get ntl tv and phone at the same time:>

you can upgrade to 1meg if u have ure dads pw!!!!!!

my mum however won't get ne new tv channels cos i have according to her" far too many things to do in life as it is" she thinks i should

Well, you BUY a subscription to an ISP don't you?....

Can't go wrong with Demon, even if they aren't the cheapest around.
