could anyone answer any of these

#1 is it possible to make a customisable error 404 page

if so, could you tell me how please

With IIS, open your internet services manager, the right click on yor default web site, and go to properties. You can set custom errors in the 'custom errors' tab, funnily enough.

But then, I don't think that was the answer you were looking for.

You can't just put your own error messages on a geocities site or any other cheap nasty hosting.

#1 zik's my host

#2 after reading a few sites they all seem to be saying something about a file called ".htaccess"

yeh, really the easiest soloutions just to ask zik, middies already told you how to in IIS. You didnt really need to ask us did you.

i doubt you'll be able to create custom 404's on lycos either, you can do them on my server, but theres no way in hell im letting you near my server :)
