All faultys get sent back to the distribution centre, what happens from there I dunno, but I assume they're sent back to MS who bin them. Prolly cost more to refurb them than just cut the losses.

2nd hand stuff doesnt get tested by the way, its just sold on as is. Usually if theres any problem when buying a 2nd hand console we'll just switch the machine for a new one at no extra cost.

i bought spearhead from game the other day, bought it back to the office, opened the wrapping, the case was cracked, funny i thought, something was shaking about inside, i assumed it was the broken segments, but no, it was one of the clips that hold the manual inplace, which was wierd as i already had a full complement of them, second wierdness was that there was no manual, just a "coming soon from EA" leaflet containing all their yearly release crap. no manual means no CD-key, and to make me even madder the sodding CD's dodgy, it'll read from the cd about 1/10 times, and the install causes "error in unknown in unknown" MOH:AA's a kosha legit install but it says "cant find valid version on MOH, even though i patched it after and tried again,

problem is i lost the reciept :S

Just take it back, bitch enough and they'll swap it.

oh yeh, that's what i was going to do, i just wanted to list all the defects caused by a product from game<EDIT - even though im aware that it would have been shrinkwrapped from EA>, i'll bitch, and i'll bitch good, but i'll make sure i get the manager, he's quite a nice chap very customer focused too, we've got 4 game stores in southampton is that some kind of record?

The manager at the Winchester GAME is a handy bloke too. Dead helpful like.

It's a problem with all game stores really, we have to gut all the boxes before putting them on display so sticky fingered fucknuts don't rob them. What this usually means is theres' a big bookshelf full of manuals with cds slipped in them, which occasionally fall out and get trodden on before being put back in the box when you buy them. If its not got the factory shrinkwrap (i.e. the neat kind thats folded over at the corners) then it's probably been done on the machine in the back, and could be in any kind of condition, so check it out before you leave the shop.
