if the rom hasn't been released in your country and has in another its technically legal to have the rom
Not if you don't own the original game itself...

did i just get pimpslapped by biggles?

btw pokemon is NOT lame...its just the lamer crowd that play it...change the cutsey monsters for double hard monsters of doom and it would have a different appeal..

the animated series however...now THAT was for kids

and as for illegal, pish says I, I would have bought it if it was out over here.. i did buy pokemon blue however..and the immense price of that more than makes up for the quantity of game played (ref the nintendo topic)

1 - 1 ...YAOBAETCHA

(edit) plus the fact you still play cs invalidated any argument you may have had...

I bought pokemon blue, still have it, still play it sometimes, It's a great game. just wish all that spinoff stuff like the trading cards, and tonnes of toys hadn't been invented. still, I got that obese pikachu stuffed toy that shouts pika pika when you pat his head, that is cool, you can see it at shotgun if you come since I always bring him for no apparent reason.

you don't have to own the original game if it isn't licensed in your country yet. If you have the jap rom before it comes out in the uk it is legal, mainly because there is nothing saying that it is illegal

Picachu blows goats. I have photographic proof.

(Anyone spot the cunning, cross-forum references???)

(Anyone know how to spell Picachu???)

true pokemasters like myself dont need exp.all

anyway i think its better if you train them up by hand you get better stats im lead to believe

my manually raised gyarados took 50% more experience than any other pokemon i had (thats about 500k more xp...ALOT) but its nearly the hardest pokemon in the game...and it pwns the lot of you

nothing can touch my pokemon..i AM the pokeMASTER

i can see how it appeals to poeple, and it is an OKish game.
however i think tht the way it has been squeezed for every last drop of money is i think pretty apauling.

Just because an animation is from Japan doesn't make it any more grown up. Pokemon is still a cartoon, it's just done in a particularly crap and lazy style.

Do the Japanese make animated stories for adults? Yep, but Pokemon isn't one of em.

cartoon in my veiw is usually something drawn in a particular style...exaggerated proportions and flashy effecty things (think whammo from batman)...whereas anime (or animated film) is usually drawn more in proper proportion and is usually intended to be a more realistic illustration of things

cartoons dont even need to be animated.... comics for example...the beano would be cartoony..judge dredd would be classified more likley as something like a graphic illustration comic...or in japan they call them Manga

there are programs in japan intended to be for kids and are stylisticly very cartoony, and there are programs that arent from japan animated in a more complex and proportionate way that dont come from japan...

so heres the science bit, concentrate

anime generally refers to any animated film that comes from japan

cartoon refers to a style of drawing

so saying something is a cartoon rather than anime is like saying "thats not a boat ...its blue" when infact the object is a blue boat

a cartoony anime can exist
