Terminator 3.... thoughts? (spoiler)
Well it's a bit wet really isn't it? The action sequences are above average sci-fi fare, but the actual plot seems a bit lame tbh. Was anyone actually scared that the two main characters were gonna die? In the first two you were never quite sure, there must have been 4 or 5 points where you thought, "it aint coming back from that thank god" and then... "omg, its back!" I didnt feel any of that in the 3rd film.
And where's the gore ffs? What thrill is a 12 year old going to get from watching T3 if he's allowed to watch it? No sneaking round a mates house to watch a dodgy pirate copy he's got of an older brother. Bah.

Good entertaining film I thought. Just as good as T2, not the same kinda film though. T1 was a fantastic suspense/thriller, T2/3 are big budget action movies starring the governor of California

Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed it, but just came away a little dissapointed that they hadn't really evolved from T2 - it's still all action over substance (nothing wrong with that but maybe I look for more from films these days). I guess the Matrix has moved Sci-Fi quite a bit further on with regards to philosophy / making you think.

Now that I actually have seen it at home on the big screen (10 foot diagonal) I have to say that is the worst of the 3.
The opening set piece with the crane is excellent, but the Totty Terminator was about as scarey as a fluffy thing.
Arnold looked his age and his gut is almost the size of mine, I'm not a movie star/former Mr World, so at least I have an excuse.
The plot coverage of the changes, the world is save, John Connor - world leader were good, but the whole thing felt disjointed.
A decent Sat night DVD with a few cans, but not a patch on the earlier ones.
This years hit DVD to date will be Pirates of the Carribean...

Err, no. The first one was great in its day. The later pair are a bunch of phsychobable drivel. Some, and I do mean some, nice special effects, but that's about it. The Wachowski brothers beleived their own blurb and dissapeared up their own asses.LazyManc wrote:I guess the Matrix has moved Sci-Fi quite a bit further on with regards to philosophy / making you think.
The highlight of the the later movies was Monica Bellucci busting out of her PVC clothing...
