Hi,

Can anyone offer a lift for my box to and from central London for SG17? If you could take me in the car at the same time that would be a bonus. :)

Naturally, I'd be willing pay some to offset the costs of petrol etc.

Cheers,

David

I'm hiring a car to transport myself and Mark (FrF) down already. I'm not sure I'll have enough room for another person/PC. Haven't you got your own transport?

New plan: I'm going to come without my PC. I'll be coming down to the train station on the evening; if someone could ferry me to the venue that'd be much appreciated. :)

I will be brining my new second-hand iBook but it's not really gaming-worthy -- although it could act as a wireless base station for the venue if I can be arsed to set it up.

And it comes with Samba so I can join in the leeching of shiny things. :D

On the subject of wireless, I'll be bringing along my 802.11g base station for your wireless needs.
If anyone has an 802.11a base station and wants to show it off, by all means bring it along. Chat to me about getting an IP for it.

I'm not particularly worried about people hi-jacking our network to....urm...bugger all :)

I'm more worried about having people like Glimmerman on the network tbh ;)

Which is why I said "As long as we set up an encryption key it'd stop most peeps." :)

Bugger encryption. These access points generally have eeny range anyway.
Given we're stuck in the middle of a huge car park in the middle of nowhere, I don't think anyone'll be interested in our little WiFi network.

you say that, but there is a train line next to us :) someone might pick it up on their laptop going one way, and be really nasty and take a jouney back the same way, and do something really nasty!
