How to signup for SG19
Edit - This has been resurrected to a sticky topic yet again... The discussion that follows it isn't current, folks
I know I'm gonna get questions about this, so I'll try and cover 'em now...
1 - Why?
The old system relied on having 2 user accounts for the SG site. This resulted in almost everyone's email addy being wrong in the signup db, and everyone forgetting thir passwords for it. It also may have sucked a bit as a result of being kludged together for a looong time...
2 - What now?
All the info is now in your one forum account. Hopefully this should be fairly up to date, and as it's cookied and stuff, easier to use. The old system's interface sucked a bit as well.
3 - How?
To change your status, head for your account profile page... when an event is open, a "LAN status" section is there. Simply hit the right buttons, and it'll signup you up.
4 - Who?
You can tell who's coming by the icons next to their post. Currently, there's no huge "These people are coming" page, though I should get that sorted within the next day or two. Same goes for putting the info in a users main profile page.
5 - It Broke! (or I'm not seeing anything)
I'm not entirely suprised. Firstly, I've only installed this on the following themes: subSilver, fiBleck, fiApple and Cobalt. I think this covers pretty much everything anyone was using when I installed it, so this shouldn't be a prob. If you're having a problem, let me know which theme you're using, and I'll see what I can do. Aside from this, the icons only appear in peoples info when an event is officially announced... They disappear otherwise.
For any other problems (and I do expect a few... I wrote it, after all), mail me with as much info as you can and I'll have a look.
There we are then... comments/suggestions anyone?
